A small description of Hasan al Basri (RA)

Hasan al Basri (RA), one of the most pious thaabieen was described by some as follows, "By Allah! If he arrived, it was as if he had returned from a beloved's burial, and if he withdraw it was as if the fire was above his head. When he sat, it was as if he was a convict waiting for his head to be toppled.In the morning it was as if he had arrived from his Afterlife, and in the evening it was as if sickness had worn him away".
