Some of the sayings of Imam Az-Zuhri

" There are three things if found in a judge, he is not a (true) judge: dislike for criticism, love of praise and aversion to removal from the position"

"The best thing the people can pursue is sense of honor. Shunning the company of useless people is wisdom and avoiding them is better than talking to them."

"One of the banes of knowledge is not to act upon it until it is gone. it is also among the banes of knowledge not to benefit others with it. Another bane is forgetfulness. But the gravest bane of knowledge is untruthfulness."

The essence of worship is piousness and abstinence. Knowledge is the righteousness. Patience is to endure undesirable things and to call unto the way of Allah upon righteous deeds."

"Turbans are crowns of Arabs. Gift is a source of protection for the Arabs. Sleeping in the mosque is a succor for the believers."
